The CUHK Business School Proudly Announced the Launch of the Asian Business Education Network (ABEN)

The CUHK Business School proudly announced the launch of the Asian Business Education Network (ABEN) at the Global Business Forum and Dinner on 20 April 2024. We celebrated this remarkable milestone through a momentous ribbon-cutting ceremony together with our ABEN partner universities and over a hundred CUHK students.
ABEN is a collaborative platform formed by eight esteemed strategic partner universities across Asia, including Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Nagoya University of Commerce and Business, National Chiayi University, National Tsing Hua University, National University of Singapore, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Thammasat University, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Through the collective efforts of our partner institutions, ABEN aims to reinforce our contributions in the international business education arena by creating a robust network that offers knowledge-sharing opportunities and flexible cross-cultural learning experiences for our students.
In our recent collaboration, students from ABEN member institutions participated in the “Responsible Business Workshops” (RBW) in 2023 and 2024 where they gained hands-on skills for responsible business decision-making. The workshops also featured study tours in Nagoya and Tokyo which offered first-hand insights into sustainable business practices in Japan. The immersion opportunity received excellent feedback from students and has become one of the highlights of their university experience.

Building upon the success of RBW, we are excited to organise the “Summer Global Studies 2024”, a two-phased summer programme taking place in Hong Kong and Taiwan. The programme exemplifies a rich diversity by attracting participants from five institutions and seven regions. Leveraging the local academic and industry network of ABEN partners, the programme offers a blend of workshops, visits to world-leading companies like Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and tech start-ups, and cultural tours, which allows ABEN students to explore the link between sustainability and technology from various perspectives.

By focusing on a specific business topic and engaging students in first-hand experiences, these collaborative programmes enable ABEN students to acquire soft and hard skills in cross-cultural settings, compare business practices in different regions, and expand academic and professional networks.
As the network continues to evolve, numerous collaboration opportunities will emerge. We eagerly anticipate the formation of a vibrant and diverse ABEN community among our partner institutions. This transformative opportunity in business education will create a dynamic and diversified environment that nurtures the growth and development of our students as they embark on their journey to become the global leaders and innovators of tomorrow.
