The Undergraduate Office of CUHK Business School (UGO) has successfully wrapped up a 2-month learning journey under the Responsible Business Workshop (RBW) 2026. Bringing together CUHK undergraduate students and participants from Nagoya University of Commerce and Business (NUCB), National Chiayi University (NCYU), National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) under the Asian Business Education Network (ABEN), and Hanyang University (HYU), the programme was structured into three dynamic modules – a Sustainability-focused Study Trip in Taiwan, a series of interactive online workshops that instilled strong theoretical foundations, and a Sustainability & Technology-focused Study Trip in Hong Kong.

Study Trip in Taiwan

During the Reading Week in March, we led a group of passionate CUHK students to Taiwan for the first module of RBW 2026. Focusing on Tainan, Kaohsiung, and Chiayi, the study trip gave students hands-on exposure to real-world sustainable business practices that are creating tangible impact in local communities. Students explored how AI and technology are seamlessly integrated across key industries, including agriculture, hospitality, health & wellness, and food & beverage etc.

Interactive Online Workshops

To provide our programme participants with deeper knowledge of sustainability and broader global perspectives, we invited experts from the UK, Poland, and Japan to deliver a series of interactive workshops. The sessions covered key topics including Supply Chain Sustainability Risk, Sustainability & Japanese Business Culture, and Managing Social Enterprises.

Study Trip in Hong Kong

After completing the first two modules, we invited students from NUCB, NCYU, NTHU, and HYU to Hong Kong to co-learn with our CUHK students. While the overseas participants looked beyond the typical tourist lens to examine Hong Kong companies’ sustainability efforts, our CUHK students were equally surprised to discover their own city’s corporate sustainability initiatives through organisation visits and insightful discussions with industry professionals.

In addition to the academic activities, the Hong Kong trip also served as a great bridge to connect all the participants in person and forge lifelong friendships. Our CUHK students took the overseas participants around Hong Kong, showing them the CUHK campus, popular sights, and some authentic local gems that most tourists rarely get to experience!

As the academic year draws to a close, UGO continues to organise high-quality international learning experiences for our students, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and mindset required to become responsible business leaders of the future.
