CUHK Business School Students Triumphs at Three International Case Competitions
- 2nd Runner-Up at the McDonough Business Strategy Challenge (MBSC) 2026 in the United States
- 1st Runner-Up at the CaseIT MIS Case Competition (CaseIT) 2026 in Canada
- 1st Runner-Up at the IE Business Case Competition (IEBCC) 2026 in Spain
Across the three competitions, our students competed against elite institutions, applying rigorous business thinking to tackle complex, real-world challenges. Pushing beyond their limits, they honed their leadership and collaboration skills while triumphing alongside the world’s best, and returned with the impressive results.
Our victories began in the week of 1–7 February 2026, when Jessica Cheuk (IBBA, Year 3), Matthias Chong (IBCE, Year 3), Lauren Ho (IBBA, Year 3), and Shing-him Lee (QFRM, Year 3) flew to Washington, D.C., to compete in the McDonough Business Strategy Challenge 2026, organised by Georgetown University. The event brought together 60 elite students from top international universities and challenged them with a real-world case for the DC Preservation League.
Meanwhile, another team of four – Ryan Chi (GBS, Year 3), Panitsiree Choochua (IBBA, Year 3), Jasmine Wong (BBAJD, Year 2), and James Li (IFAA, Year 2) – spent their Chinese New Year holiday from 15 – 21 February 2026 in Vancouver, Canada, competing in the CaseIT MIS Case Competition 2026. Hosted by the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University, CaseIT is a prestigious international competition that challenges participants to apply not only their business skills but also their expertise in Management Information Systems (MIS).
IE Business Case Competition (IEBCC) 2026 – Madrid, Spain
From 23–27 February 2026, another quartet – Yan Hung Lui (GBS, Year 3), Jason Siu (QFRM, Year 3), Eunice Wai (IBCE, Year 4), and Yoyo Zhang (GBS, Year 3), competed in the IE Business Case Competition (IEBCC) 2026 in Madrid, Spain.
We extend our sincere thanks to our talented students for their tremendous dedication and achievements, to our advisors, Dr Fred Ku, Ms Rose Chan and Ms Esther Tam for their invaluable guidance and support, and to the CUHK Case Competition Team (CCT) and alumni for the training and commitment. We are also deeply grateful to Georgetown University, the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University and IE University for their gracious invitations and warm hospitality. Finally, we thank all the competing teams for their sportsmanship, enriching exchanges, and friendship, which made the experience truly memorable.
